Rubber patches
These patches are sometimes also called "plastisol". The name received from the name of the applied material. With a good level of manufacturing, quite unpretentious in everyday use. But limited in the number of colors used, especially in the use of "metallic" colors. But at large runs have a low price. Although, this parameter is worse than the patches made by the method of printing on fabric.
The relief of the pattern on such patches is average. Not quite flat, as in "printed", but not as embossed as in embroidered.
If in the manufacture of such products, the manufacturing technology was not appropriately maintained, then the strength of the printed image can be so low that the elements of the pattern begin to fall off in the first days of using the clothes.
In our practice, there were cases when the “rubber” patch brought by the customer began to lose the elements of the design during scanning.
Printed patches
Made by applying paint to fabric.
Probably the most inexpensive, especially with large volumes of production. That is due to the low complexity of manufacturing.
With good quality manufacturing such patches, resistance to everyday use is one of the highest.
Probably, besides the fact that these patches are inexpensive, this technology does not have positive sides.
It is impossible to achieve a relief image in such a way; metallized paint can be used, but the wear resistance of such a pattern is low.
Therefore, the use of such technology on the army form has not received.
Patches made of cord or wire
Very effective, but also the most expensive technology for the manufacture of patches.
Drawing is applied by laying out the cord or gimp manually.

Jacquard patches
The main advantages of this technology:
✔ The ability to reproduce small elements. Almost like printed patches.
✔ Low cost, but only for large production volumes.
But this technology also has very significant flaws:
✗ The high cost for small production volumes - significantly higher than that of embroidered badges.
✗ Low durability.
✗ A very significant drawback is the impossibility of edging the edge. To get a full-fledged patch, you have to use this technology together with manual edging overlock or machine embroidery.
